The beauty of the Green Business Guide is the substantial repertoire of detailed information available freely to South African consumers who care to tread lightly on the earth, choosing to buy from “greentrepreneurs”. Fabulously detailed information and fascinating free podcasts await those who trawl this vast and generous resource.
A little history
When Heather McEwan returned some years ago from living overseas and started building a small RDP house as part of the NHBRC ABSA Bank Housing Innovation Award. Her husband, Khaled, was attempting to build a Green Star rated residential development in Port Elizabeth. Both struggled to find a list of “green” suppliers and products online.
This dearth of information led her to start the Green Business Guide, a terrific online publication that makes it easy for green consumers to find the companies they need and entrepreneurs to connect with their consumers.
